Zinc Wine List 2007 recipient of the 2007 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, honored by Wine Spectator for having one of the most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world.

Situated across from the historic New Haven Green, in the heart of the citys shopping district, ZINC offers up its unique style of Modern American food for both lunch and dinner. Since opening its doors in September of 1999 ZINCs modern interpretation of American Food has firmly established itself in the citys burgeoning restaurant scene.

Acclaimed chef, Denise Appel, describes ZINCs Modern American Food as market inspired and globally infused. The menus for both lunch and dinner change seasonally, often drawing upon the areas fine green markets and local organic farms for the freshest ingredients. In ZINCs first year critical accolades from the New York Times, The Hartford Courant, and Connecticut Magazine, an invitation to the James Beard House and an Excellent review from the New York Times, have confirmed its star power.

Zincs Wine List has been created with our culinary philosophy in mind. Food and wine are intended not only to complement each other, but to inspire one another as well. This is an integral part of the dining experience at Zinc Restaurant.

The dining experience at Zinc offers guests a changing menu using the highest quality ingredients from many local purveyors and artisanal producers from around the United States, Italy, Spain, France and England. With over 180 selections to choose from our wine list complements our Modern American Food with a substantial backbone of the highest quality American wine producers without excluding a representation of classic and new European producers, including Italy, Austria, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Germany. Our list of 18-featured wines offers a regular selection of wines by the glass that change to accommodate our seasonal menu changes, reflecting Chef Denise Appels underlying philosophy. With on-going regular tasting and introduction to new wines and producers, we strive to create a complete dining experience for the utmost enjoyment of our guests, choosing wines to complement our unique and original cuisine. Our staff enjoys a regular monthly training/tasting as we introduce new wine selections to our list. This creates a dynamic and stimulating atmosphere where our guests are able to sample wines guided by knowledgeable servers.

At a time when the selection of wine can be daunting and intimidating due to the sheer quantity of extraordinary wine available, our list offers novices and wine connoisseurs a winning experience.
